Questions people ask
Who is the pass for?
The people who came to the expo. It can be claimed until the end of October 9, 2026 (Pacific time), once per account. After that, the claim link starts Carir's regular 5-day trial instead.
Do I need a credit card?
No. Claim the pass, create your account with your email, and Pro is on for 14 days. No card is asked for, and nothing is charged.
What happens after 14 days?
The pass ends by itself. Your account stays on the free plan with everything you made: your resume, your saved jobs and your tracker. If you want to keep Pro, you press Keep Pro in Billing and add a card then; Pro is $25 per month.
I already have a Carir account. Can I use the pass?
Yes, if your account has never had a Pro trial. Sign in when you claim, and the pass starts on that account. A Pro trial is given once per account, so a pass cannot restart a trial you already used.
Is this pass from the City of San José?
No. The expo is the City's event, and Carir is an independent company that is not affiliated with the City. The 14-day pass is Carir's own offer. For anything about the expo itself, see the City's event page or write to LearningAndDevelopment@sanjoseca.gov.
Does Carir list City of San José jobs?
Apply for City jobs through the City itself; the City's event page links to its job openings. Carir's daily matches come from employers' own hiring boards, and its job board from public job boards, applicant-tracking feeds and government job banks.
