Matches is your list of roles from the last two weeks, the last 24 hours first. Each role is confirmed as one of yours, checked against every setting you gave, and read against your resume requirement by requirement, with the posting's words and your own line side by side.
Where it falls short. The posting asks for SQL for self-serve analysis; your resume names no query language.

Good match · differs on level
Example of a card on Carir's Matches page. Names, companies and scores are fictional.
Carir Matches lists the roles that fit your settings from the last two weeks, found by your own web search on employers' hiring boards and on Carir's job board, grouped by when they were posted with the last 24 hours first. A match is how well your resume fits the role, less a step for each thing that differs from what you asked for.
What job matching does for you
What does it do?
It keeps a ranked list of the roles that fit you. Your own web search finds employers posting your roles in your places on their hiring boards, Carir's job board adds the rest, and every role is confirmed as one of yours before it is listed, then read against your resume.
Who is it for?
Anyone with a resume who would rather start the day with a short, explained list than a long search: people applying now, and people who only want to hear about roles that really fit.
What problem does it solve?
A match score with no reasons can't be checked, and a list sorted by keywords buries the roles you would actually get. Matches shows what each role asks for, what your resume shows, and what is missing, so you can decide in a minute.
How is it different from doing it by hand?
By hand you read each posting against your resume line by line. Matches does that reading for every new role, quotes both sides, and orders the list by how well your resume fits and how many of your settings each role differs on.
How does it connect to the rest of Carir?
From a card you can run the ATS check, tailor your resume starting from your original, send the role to Auto Apply, star it for your wishlist or find the people to reach. Not for me takes a role off your list, and the reason you give is weighed when Carir ranks the roles it brings you next.
How it works
Tell Carir what you want, once.Your roles, level, place and radius, work arrangement, contract type and pay floor come from your profile, and your resume is read once.
It searches where roles are posted.Carir's web search looks for your roles in your places on Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby and reads each board it finds, keeping each role with the employer's own timestamp. Boards are read again every two hours.
It confirms and checks every role. Each role is confirmed as one of yours, then checked against your role, level, place, work arrangement, contract type and pay floor. A role below your pay floor is left off, or shown apart and marked as below it.
It reads your resume against the posting.Requirement by requirement, the posting's words are matched to a line of your resume, quoted word for word, and marked shown, partly shown or missing.
Why it helps
Reasons you can check
Why it fits is written only from the posting's requirements and your own lines: no skill, number or result that isn't there.
Evidence beside every claim
The posting's words and your resume line sit side by side for each requirement, so you can see the fit instead of trusting a number.
Where you fall short, named
Missing requirements are listed with what to do next and the resume fixes that would close them.
Your rules, kept
Place, level and pay floor are rules, not hints, and no employer pays to move a role up your list.
The top of your list at 8 AM
The daily email brings your best matches at eight in the morning, your time.
This isn't an isolated tool.
Matches is where Carir works out what deserves your time, and every next step starts from the card. The ATS check, the AI tailor, Auto Apply and contact research each open on that role, reading the same posting and the same resume.
AI job matching compares a posting with your resume and your preferences and says how well they fit. Carir's Matches does it for every new role that fits your settings: it matches each requirement to a line of your resume, quotes both, and marks it shown, partly shown or missing, so the score comes with its reasons.
What does the match score mean?
It is how well your resume fits the role, less a step for each thing that differs from what you asked for, such as the place or the level. It is not a prediction of an interview or an offer, and no employer can pay to change it.
Where do my matches come from?
From employers' own Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby boards, found by a web search for your roles in your places, and from Carir's job board. The list is grouped by when each role was posted, the last 24 hours first, and every role is confirmed as one of yours before it appears.
Will Carir invent reasons a job fits me?
No. The written reasons on a card use only facts in the posting's requirements and your resume lines, and any sentence the evidence doesn't support is dropped. Each requirement shows the posting's words and your own line, word for word, so you can check it yourself.
